So, we’ve got this big family wedding tomorrow, right? And I have to try to figure out what I’m going to do with my hair. (My unruly, not-quite-short, growing-out, mop of hair.) I could go work on that, or I could shop the Amazon Friday Sale. Guess which one I pick!
I am totally going to buy this high-definition television to go with the Wii we don’t have. What? Stop looking at me like that.
I’ll confess that I have serious shiny compost container lust, even though I know I can save my $50 and continue putting our compost in a plain bowl until I’m ready to take it outside. Alas.

Now that summer is in full swing, I trust you have the slathering of sunblock down to a science, yes? One thing that doesn’t change, though, is that if you’re spending any amount of time outside, the sunblock disappears at an alarming rate.

My first thought was $50 of sunscreen?? But then I realized that we easily go through that in a summer. Heck, sometimes we go through that in a month. Might as well get it on the cheap. (I especially like this continuous spray sunblock, which I used to say I’d never buy because it’s so expensive… but I’ve since learned that a little extra money is absolutely worth the quicker, more thorough application. With a 50% discount it’s not even too pricey.)
Tomorrow is Cow Appreciation Day
I’m not a huge fan of fast food, you understand, but there is a soft spot in my heart for Chick-fil-A. For one thing, their shakes should be illegal, they’re so yummy. For another, every year they do Cow Appreciation Day.
Dress like a cow, get free food. It’s that easy. Just find your local restaurant and get the kids dolled up for a free meal.
I suspect that in another year or two my daughter is going to declare herself too old and/or too cool to participate in this, but so far both kids have absolutely loved heading to the mall dressed like cows. (You don’t need fancy costumes, either. We generally make black Holstein spots out of construction paper and affix them to white shirts.)

I have pretty shoes on the brain
I’m traveling for the rest of the week, or more properly I guess I should say that I’ve already traveled and now I’m engaging in some Family Wedding Madness for the remainder of the week. So I can think about arrangements and family relationships, or I can think about shoes.
