Bonus Friday deals!
You know that usually I post the Friday Sale and go on my merry way for the day, but I had to come back and let you know about two more deals that are good for today only.
First, many of you emailed me about Free Slurpee Day, which is—of course—today, 7/11. You could go stop in at your local 7-11 for one after you get your free food at Chick-fil-A, maybe. Heh.
Second, Tessa emailed to let me know that today only you can take 40% off anything at the Spanx Store by using coupon SPANX98. Free shipping, too.
And after Chick-fil-A and a Slurpee, many of us are going to need some Spanx, so see how nicely that works out…?
The Friday Sale is always straightforward
So, we’ve got this big family wedding tomorrow, right? And I have to try to figure out what I’m going to do with my hair. (My unruly, not-quite-short, growing-out, mop of hair.) I could go work on that, or I could shop the Amazon Friday Sale. Guess which one I pick!
I am totally going to buy this high-definition television to go with the Wii we don’t have. What? Stop looking at me like that.
I’ll confess that I have serious shiny compost container lust, even though I know I can save my $50 and continue putting our compost in a plain bowl until I’m ready to take it outside. Alas.
Got ottomans?
You could score big points with your favorite geek by getting this solar array. Sure, it’s still $300, but it’s so cool.
Oooh, this is a nice Coleman tent. As is this one if you want a giant model. (Now if only the temperature would dip below 90 at night so that I could think about camping.)
Ooooooh, that’s a very shiny KitchenAid mixer. Want.
Have a wonderful Friday, everyone!
I go, you go, we all go
Want Not regular BB was kind enough to tip me off to this deal on an iGo Everywhere Charger, and he says: “Don’t let the iPod reference distract you. It’s just the chargers and cables. Tips can be bought at Amazon, Mobility (the manufacturer), or Radio Shack, for roughly $10 each.”
So there you have it. Normally $40, on sale for $13.17 and ready to go if you’re using it for an iPod or iPhone, and adapter-ready for other devices, as well.
Summer savings at Crazy 8
You know how I love a good sale at Crazy 8, so I thought I’d give you a heads up that their Semi-Annual Sale is on and you can use coupon code SAVE15 for 15% off and free shipping.
Just don’t look at it while your kids are around. Trust me; my kids go nuts when they see the site, and just now when I was looking I had a nephew trying to climb inside my computer because he was sure he needed “those green flippers.” I think he meant flip-flops. I hope he did, anyway.
Stay safe in the sun
Now that summer is in full swing, I trust you have the slathering of sunblock down to a science, yes? One thing that doesn’t change, though, is that if you’re spending any amount of time outside, the sunblock disappears at an alarming rate.
If you need to stock up, check out the eligible sun protection products at Amazon. Buy $50+ worth of any combination of those items, and you can save $25 with coupon code JUL08SUN.
My first thought was $50 of sunscreen?? But then I realized that we easily go through that in a summer. Heck, sometimes we go through that in a month. Might as well get it on the cheap. (I especially like this continuous spray sunblock, which I used to say I’d never buy because it’s so expensive… but I’ve since learned that a little extra money is absolutely worth the quicker, more thorough application. With a 50% discount it’s not even too pricey.)
Tomorrow is Cow Appreciation Day
I’m not a huge fan of fast food, you understand, but there is a soft spot in my heart for Chick-fil-A. For one thing, their shakes should be illegal, they’re so yummy. For another, every year they do Cow Appreciation Day.
Dress like a cow, get free food. It’s that easy. Just find your local restaurant and get the kids dolled up for a free meal.
I suspect that in another year or two my daughter is going to declare herself too old and/or too cool to participate in this, but so far both kids have absolutely loved heading to the mall dressed like cows. (You don’t need fancy costumes, either. We generally make black Holstein spots out of construction paper and affix them to white shirts.)
Friday, July 11th. Dress like a cow and get free food and interesting comments from strangers.
I have pretty shoes on the brain
I’m traveling for the rest of the week, or more properly I guess I should say that I’ve already traveled and now I’m engaging in some Family Wedding Madness for the remainder of the week. So I can think about arrangements and family relationships, or I can think about shoes.
That was sort of a no-brainer.
If something catches your fancy over at Shoebuy, you have through tomorrow (July 11th, 2008) to use coupon code EMLJULYFOURTH08 to take 20% off your order. Because there is very little that a good pair of shoes can’t fix.
Oh, hey, it’s Wednesday!
Sometimes I forget what day it is. Or where I am. Or who I am. Who are you?
I’m kidding. It’s just that I may need a little more sleep. Honest.
Anyway, it does appear to be Wednesday, which means that there are JC Penney Wednesday Deals to be had. Nothing there floats my boat, today, but we all have different boats.
Sneakers and fan gear and cleats, oh my!
Need to get into the game? You might want to peek over at Footlocker. Sure, they’ve got everything you need (and lots you don’t even recognize, or maybe that’s just me, but seriously, “Nordic Walker Training Pole”??), but for the entire month of July they’re offering a special discount: Take 20% off your $99+ order with coupon code LKS18LCP.
Needless to say, that could buy you a lot of Nordic poles at a discount. If you’re into that sort of thing.
New reductions are music to my ears
Pesky children still growing despite your orders to slow down? You could try putting bricks on their heads, but a better gameplan might be to check out the new markdowns over at The Children’s Place.
If you’re buying a bunch, you can use coupon code NEXTJ68 for 10% off your $100+ purchase.
And probably you—like me—now think “But I just bought the kids clothes!” That’s fine. Just wait a minute. Wait. Wait. Okay, there. They’ve outgrown what you last bought. See?
