More cheap DVDs
I’m not sure what the proliferation of DVD deals is about, recently. It’s like the weather is improving and the retail world is desperately waving you back into the house. “Ignore the sun! That’s not warm air, that’s, um, my oven! Get back inside!” But I’m sure I’m just imagining.
Anyway, through April 20th, 2008, there’s a big sale on Buena Vista DVDs going on at DeepDiscount.com. There’s over 450 titles from which to choose, and if you buy any two you get the third free! (The savings should be automatic, but if it’s not showing up properly for some reason, use coupon code B2GOBVD0408.)
Just don’t forget to go outside now and then, too.
If I can’t have one, I get to poke fun
Hey, I think it’s been a few hours since I last mentioned that we don’t have a Nintendo wii, hasn’t it?
Well, the good news is that right now you can pre-order the Wii Fit from Amazon for $89.99, and if the price decreases before release you’ll get the lowest possible price.
The bad news is that if you want one, you have to watch this, first:
(If that didn’t make you laugh, you have no sense of humor and should immediately send your wii to my house. That is all.)
Doorbusters and more
Hey, Kohls is having a sale today (what a surprise!) and there are Doorbusters and other specials and—of course—a vast array of items in the Clearance section.
Flat rate $5 shipping is still in effect until April 22nd, 2008, and Kohls card holder can still use code SAVE15MAR for an additional 15% off with card.
And while I do think the shipping deal is awesome (their regular shipping is nearly always outrageous), I can’t urge you to “hurry” with a straight face, because there’ll be another special and another promotion coming along in the next day or week. Kohls is like that. Nevertheless—hit the sales right and you can make out like a bandit if you need stuff.
Not as cool as laser vision, but still good
My son is overly fond of sentences that start out, “What if….” And he’s not asking about what would happen if everyone is good and kind, either. He wants to know what would happen if everyone had twelve arms! And the ability to breathe fire! And bionic hearing!
(He is not currently for sale, but keep checking back!)
Anyway, I’m sure he’d be very disappointed by this deal at Buy.com for a Samsung ML-2510 laser printer, because—in spite of being highly-rated, and $94.99 with free shipping and a $50 available rebate (through April 20th, 2008), making it net $45—it doesn’t, you know, shoot lasers.
Oh, well.
We’re halfway through the week
I think that the pickings are kind of slim at the JC Penney Wednesday Sale this week… but if you’re in need of tank tops, they have ’em in just about every color of the rainbow for just $3.99 each.
They’re not fancy or anything, but I do like to have tanks around to throw on under other things. Consider them… stomach insurance. (Those of you who’ve given birth know exactly what I mean by that.)
Feeling the Kitchenaid love
Look; if you’ve been hanging around here for any length of time at all, you already know that I am all about the Kitchenaid stand mixer. It’s the industry standard; I now own my mother’s mixer, which I think used to be her mother’s mixer, and if you do any baking or cooking that requires a hefty stand mixer, this is the brand to buy. They’re built to last, period.
If you’re considering one, listen up: The 5-quart model regularly goes on sale at Amazon for various prices. Right now, the 5-quart Kitchenaid stand mixer in chrome, blue, or red is $199.99 with free Super Saver Shipping. This isn’t the very best price I’ve ever seen at Amazon, of course, but here’s the good part—buy your mixer before May 31st, and you can mail in to receive a $40 attachment for free. Choose either the food grinder or the slicer/shredder.
If you’re planning on both the mixer and an attachment, that’s pretty much the best deal I’ve seen. (Remember, too, that if Amazon drops the price in the 30 days following your purchase, you can ask for a price adjustment.)
On a somewhat unrelated note: Is it weird that I totally want the food grinder?
Mmmmm. . . tax-y! I mean, taste-y!
Never one to be left out of a possible opportunity to have a promotion (as if), Restaurant.com busted out a new code for Tax Day. They’re all heart. And all about the savings. So! Through April 20th, 2008, simply apply coupon code TASTE to receive two kinds of savings.
First, it will give you 50% off your order, making $25 worth of dining cost a mere $5. Second, each and every order will receive a bonus $10 Restaurant.com certificate, as well! That’s $35 of dining out for $5 out of pocket.
That’s completely nuts. And I mean that in a good way.
Get your deals at Dockers
If you think Dockers are still just khaki pants for guys, think again. They have all sorts of things, and right now there’s a crop of new specials you might want to check out:
Women’s merino and silk/cotton sweaters are just $12.97 – $14.97.
Men’s original khakis are just 2 for $70.
All accessories are buy 2, get 1 free.
There’s plenty of other deals, too, so have a look if you’re needing clothes. Dockers is offering automatic free shipping (click through this link to activate!) on all orders regardless of size, too!
Wii will, wii will. . . nunchuck!
[Please insert sad violin music and me telling you, again, in a tremulous voice about how we are sad and wii-less here at Casa Mir. Alas.]
Even though I don’t have a wii, that doesn’t mean you aren’t enjoying yours, you lucky duck. But perhaps you’d enjoy it even more with a wireless nunchuck kit for whatever fabulous wii games that require a nunchuck? Or maybe you just like to say nunchuck? I know that I do. Nunchuck! Nunchuck!
Ahem. Anyway, you can get one for just $13.99 through that link up there to Buy.com, and if you’ve never used Google Checkout before, you can get another $10 off, making it just $3.99 shipped. That’s a great deal.
Also, you should invite me over to play. I totally rock wii bowling.
Feed your need for TV, for less
I used to say that I wasn’t one to collect DVDs—I was perfect happy vegging out in front of the television with regular programming. Well, during the WGA strike I came to believe that DVDs are sanity savers for those times when I just need to sit still in front of my friend the shiny box. (Hey, I read and work all day long. Sometimes I just want some mindless entertainment. Don’t judge.)
Of course, the strike is over now, but I still believe in the soothing power of a great DVD or four. So I was all excited this morning to see that Amazon is offering buy one, get one free on qualifying TV DVD sets. Get your favorite shows on the cheap!
They’ve got a nice mix of new and old shows, too. (Did anyone else love Picket Fences as much as I did? That was an awesome show.) If there’s nothing you need, it could still be a great way to tackle Mother’s or Father’s Day….
[Update: Sorry, link is fixed now.]
