Cheap flights between obscure airports
Play safe in the sun, for less
[Edit at 12:51 Eastern: Ordering is open, but the site is limping along. Good luck.]
Every year, Allure Magazine does this box of, well, stuff that gets released on a certain day and is only available in limited quantities (I forget how many they do… maybe 2000?) and sells out within hours and I’m describing it badly but honestly, it’s pretty cool. Each box of beauty products is heavily slanted towards suncare items, but in past years I’ve gotten really nice lip gloss and other stuff like that, too.
Anyway, the 2007 Allure Beauty Box is going on sale today, April 24th, at 12:01 p.m. Eastern time. It’s $27.99 shipped and contains $215 worth of products. If you want to get one of these, you need to be online and ready to order pretty much right when the ordering goes live. I’d say you’ve got maybe half an hour or an hour before they run out, so pay attention and be ready to grab one at noon (Eastern!) today. (For what it’s worth, I won’t be ordering this year, but I’ve gotten it before and been pleased.)
Product list is after the jump. read more…
If you’ve been holding out, now’s the time
Okay, you’ve got from now through April 30th to combine the best of all possible Restaurant.com worlds:
Use coupon code APRIL to take 60% off your order,
PLUS
You’ll receive a bonus $10 certificate with every order.
The result is $35 worth of certificates for just $4, for example. (Most restaurants offer $25 certificates. Some offer $10 certificates.) Go look around to see if there are participating restaurants in your area. They’re adding new restaurants all the time… there are three new ones in my area since the last time I looked. (Which was the last time they had a coupon, so… ummm… just last week.)
Mmmm. . . charred flesh. . .
I’m an unapologetic carnivore. Oh, sure; I love fruit and veggies (and grains and everything else) as well, but I could never become a vegetarian, and the reason why is summed up in one word: Bacon.
*insert Homer Simpson-like drooling noises here*
Anyway, I’ve heard a million good things about Omaha Steaks, but they’ve finally got a sale going on that’s just my speed. Here it is: Get their delicious filets for just $5 each now through May 7th, 2007. They have filet mignon. They have bacon-wrapped filets. They have top sirloin. They—
I think I need a moment. And perhaps a bib.
Roomba over at woot!
Lou was kind enough to point out that my very favorite household gadget, my Scheduler Roomba, is the item of the day over at woot! today.
It’s remanufactured, but if that scares you, take heart. Mine was remanufactured and didn’t work; iRobot replaced it with a brand spankin’ new one at no cost. Their customer service is quite good.
And besides, haven’t you always wanted a robot?
Sell it on eBay tomorrow
Tomorrow, April 24th, is a $.20 listing promotional day on eBay, so get listing. Auctions that are entered earlier but scheduled to begin during the promo period are eligible as well.
Things like cars aren’t, though. So if you were holding out for a chance to list your car for $.20, you’re out of luck.
It might be time for me to unload my original wedding dress, though….
Pretty soon, every day will be a sale
Have you noticed that Amazon has started following up the Friday Sale pretty regularly with a Monday Home & Garden One-Day Sale? It’s not that I’m unhappy about all the sales, it’s just that I think Tuesday through Thursday are getting a little gypped. Just sayin’.
Do not show this smoker to my beloved unless you’re planning to buy it for him. Seriously, I won’t be able to take the pining. (And that’s an awesome price. Were we not about to spend every nickel we have on selling and buying houses and getting me moved, I’d be all over that one.)
Can’t decide between a food processor or a blender, or afraid you don’t have room for both? Problem solved!
Did you miss out on the quesadilla maker the last time I posted it was on sale? If you have kids, you need one of these. Everything tastes better in quesadilla form.
The basic Circulon set is on sale again, and still eligible for a free year of Domino magazine with purchase. So’s this one
, if you want a smaller set.
I could make a lot of cookies on these.
I have an irrational love for this scale (and it’s even cheaper in pink). I don’t know why. I just think it would look really cool on my kitchen counter. (Slightly more practical, but no less alluring, is this here salt ball
.)
I think I’ll buy two of these, one to put each child in. Oh, did I say that out loud? I mean, one for each kid to put their stuff in. Ahem.
Oooohhhh, don’t forget the vacuums section… they’ve got Dysons and Scoobas galore over there.
Oh, there’s lots more. This is better than last Friday. Go! Look around! Find a deal!
Free shipping today and tomorrow only
I don’t know what’s happening in your corner of the world, today, but here? It’s like summer. (That’s New England’s motto: “7 months of Winter, immediately followed by Summer.”) And if I didn’t work here at home where I often toil away in my pajamas, I’d probably be wondering how I’m fixed for a warm-weather wardrobe. And then I’d probably wander on over to Eddie Bauer because I like to shop there. And then I’d be all excited to discover that through April 24th, 2007, you can use coupon code FRSHPAPR for free shipping! ($3 handling charge per order still applies.)
Well, anyway, that’s what I’d do if I wasn’t sitting here working in my pajamas.
Just like staying at a cheap hotel
Start every morning with a cup of coffee? Wish you could relieve the feeling of being in a cheap chain hotel with a personal coffeemaker perched on the edge of the sink? Now you can!
Gina suggests getting yourself a free week’s worth of Coffee-Mate and then picking up some free coffee to go with it.
Now if someone can find me some free donuts we can send away for, we’d really be in business.
I’m writing this from my porch
The sun has finally come out and I am joyful once again. Spring may have finally arrived. Woo!
If you’re experiencing similarly gorgeous weather, please go outside and enjoy it (and maybe don’t take your laptop out with you like a big dork; I’ve got all the dorkitude the world needs covered right here). But if it’s gloomy where you are, or you have some very important shopping to do, perhaps you’d like to take $30 off your $250+ Overstock purchase this weekend. Just a friendly suggestion. (Link/coupon expires midday on Monday, April 23rd.)
