Hmmm, wasn’t I going to post more substance?
Yes, I think I said I was going to get back to the questions and the advice and all of that good stuff. Life keeps getting in the way, which is so annoying, but I suppose the alternative (no life?) would be worse. Anyway.
In the meantime, I just noticed that there’s a whole lot of stuff on clearance at Macy’s, and we like Macy’s, my precshus, yes we do, just so long as everything is about 75% off, which a lot of it is.
You can use coupon code SENDFREE for free shipping on Home orders of $125+, though I myself am busy drooling over the shoes inbetween other tasks.
Don’t be a big meanie
I try not to let my kids browse at Ty’s Toy Box very often, because I dislike listening to the “I neeeeeeeeed” whines that generally follow any such opportunity. But, you know, I write for they Ty’s blog, so I often have the page up on my computer, and things happen. And then I get to play Big Mean Mama when I don’t buy the whiners everything they want. (Hey, I have to keep my edge somehow.)
Anyway, maybe you’re nicer than me. In which case you may be interested to know that for the entire month of February, you can get free shipping on orders over $75 from Ty’s Toy Box with coupon code freeshipfeb.
Ty’s carries popular and hard-to-find licensed character items. Their remaining Teen Titans and Atomic Betty items are being clearanced at half-off, and they have the new Ben 10 toys and… oh, just go look for yourself. It’s kiddie nirvana over there.
I don’t know if they’re endless, but they’re pretty good
There’s a new shoe store on the ‘net, and they’re offering you $5 to take overnight delivery.
(Yeah. I like them already.)
Check out Endless (be sure to check the sale section!) and then take $5 off the listed price when you take free overnight delivery.
If this makes you nervous, ordering from a new place, be sure to check and see if either Zappos or Shoebuy carries the shoes you’re looking at. If they do, you can order from the other company and get a price match.
I love the Oscar ones

I can’t stop looking at this sale on kids’ stuff over at the PBS Store. It’s partly because I love PBS and want to marry it and have its babies—or at least support it in any way I can—and partly because I really think we need a couple of those green t-shirts for some people who shall remain nameless but live in my house and are often grouchy. Ahem.
I just like to say “salad spinner”
Do you own a salad spinner? I don’t, but I’ve always wanted one. Because it’s so much fun to say. Salad spinner. Salad spinner! (Also: Is it hard to pat your salad with paper towels? Is the salad spinner somehow superior?)
Anyway. If you’re in the market for a salad spinner or other kitchen and household things, you may want to check out the Kitchen and Home One-Day Sale going on today at Amazon. They have—surprise!—a salad spinner marked way down, as well as all kinds of other things.
Click through the tabs at the top to see it all; there’s quite a few items I’ve never seen featured in either the Friday Sale or other sale events, before. Like, I just cannot stop squeeing over these sheets. (Frankly, I’m a little disappointed that I can’t get them in king size, because I totally would.)
if you’re a little more practical than me, this crock pot with a bonus “little dipper” crock pot might be more your speed. Whichever.
What’s better than chocolate?
Chocolate that’s free, of course.
Target is offering a printable coupon for a free Choxie bar. [Edited: The live link appears not to be working any more. Here’s a page them for you.] Expires March 3rd, 2007, which means you can get 27 free candy bars (one a day!) between now and then.
I’m kidding. You shouldn’t go use one every day. That would be wrong.
Now, once a week, that’d be another story….
Start planning now for Spring Break
Going on vacation soon? Or maybe you’re not planning a big trip, but would like to do something a little different, locally, while the kids are off school?
Check out Factory Tours USA to find an interesting factory tour near you. There’s lots of things to choose from, and who knew there were 17 different cheese manufacturers willing to let you come through their facilities?
Vitamins for less
It just so happens that I was looking to buy some oregano oil (which is a story in and of itself, but it’s supposed to be a useful treatment for asthma; though I wonder if buying it and using it as such also obligates me to buy Birkenstocks and wear hemp clothing), and I stumbled across a lucky find at GNC.
First of all, all GNC multivitamins are currently on sale (and those you can just take with your chocolate! trust me!). [Edit, 2/5/07: Coupon code removed at merchant’s request. I hope you got in on this deal, but if not, apparently that code wasn’t meant for distribution and has been pulled.]
They’re also offering the ubiquitous first-time-Google-Checkout $10 discount, if you haven’t used that somewhere else, yet.
I’ll let you know how the oregano thing works out. But this deal certainly made the price a bit easier to bear. (Perhaps the savings can be put towards some incense.)
You can get a “pleasure extender” for it, too
On this Superbowl Sunday, I think it only fitting that I draw your attention to this fine item. Sure, it’s too late to get one for the big game today, but with a bit of careful planning, you could be ready to go in time for the World Series.
Oh! Or, you could give it as a gift for Valentine’s Day. Because nothing says “I love you,” like booze you can strap to your body.
Share sundaes with your sweetie
It’s always a good time for ice cream, and I feel confident saying this because I just finished shoveling my driveway and tracking snow all over my mudroom, and I still wouldn’t turn down ice cream if you offered some to me right now.
(I might have to warm it up in my tea, a little, but whatever.)
For the month of February, Cold Stone Creamery has a new Buy One, Get One Free coupon. And you should go get one and then treat someone you love to frozen confection nirvana.
