The cheapest deal on a new iPod Touch
Been waiting for a deal on a latest-generation, non-refurbished iPod Touch? Amazon has both black and white 8GB versions right now for $175 shipped. True, that’s only $25 off the retail price, but for the newest model that’s as cheap as you’re going to find it.
Of course, my teenager owns a Touch and I’m pretty sure it’s been surgically attached to her hands, so I’m not necessarily recommending it, but she probably would.
Hit the road
Planning on spending some quality time in the car this summer, listening to your children ask “Are we there yet?” For extra storage on your travels, you might want to check out today’s Sears Real Deal—it’s a Thule Quest soft-sided car-top carrier for just $55 (and you can pick it up at your local Sears for free, if you don’t want to pay for shipping).
For comparison purposes and reviews, take a look at the same carrier at Amazon; great reviews overall, and a regular price of about $81.
We have a carrier like this (not a Thule, though, unfortunately) and I’m always amazed at how much use it gets. Apparently we have a lot of stuff to tote around. Also, it’s handy when the kids misbehave. (Not really.)
Much better than real bugs
I have to admit that I didn’t really “get” hexbugs when they first came out. Plastic bugs that move around like real bugs? Whaaaa…? I didn’t see the appeal. Then again, I don’t much like bugs.
But the thing is that hexbugs are 1) not real bugs (much less ikky) and 2) really kind of fun to watch, because they’re tiny robots. The ones my son owns figure out alternate routes and react to obstacles and all kinds of neat things. So! If that piques your interest, go check out today’s Kids.Woot, because they’ve got a sweet Hexbug Nano habitat bundle today for just $19.99 plus shipping. (For reference: Just a single hexbug at Amazon will run you about $6.25, so with two bugs in the set figure you’re paying practically nothing for the habitat.) You get two bugs, plus everything you need to build a big habitrail-esque space for them to play in.
Warning: You may even play with these when your kid is at school. Just letting you know.
How YOU doin’?
Hey there, Spring Clearance Sale at 6pm.com… how you doin’? You look great! I mean, you know, really, really good. All those up-to-80%-off prices on shoes and even in-season clothing. Mmmmm, mmm mmm. If I didn’t have to leave right now I would shop the heck out of you, you know what I’m sayin’?
Awww, c’mon baby, don’t be like that! Come back! It’s a compliment! Sheesh.
Two ways to save at Lands’ End
Been eyeing something at Lands’ End and waiting for a code? Your wish is my command!
Right now you can use coupon code INTHESWIM with PIN 2767 for free shipping on any size order. Or—if you’re shopping sales/clearance—use code MONEY with PIN 2030, instead, if you’d rather get an extra 20% off and free shipping on $50+.
The real issue here is when do you not need something from Lands’ End? I’ve yet to discover that time in my own life….
Time to scope out the Athleta sale
It only happens a couple of times each year, but the sale-on-the-sale is on over at Athleta today and tomorrow—use coupon code EXTRA20 for an additional 20% off already marked down sale prices.
Shipping is automatically free on $50+, as always.
I think their bathing suits are darling. One of these days, I’m going to be able to find a sale top and bottom at the same time. Heh.
Need some new FLOR?
In addition to the rest of the fabulous boutiques available today at Fab.com, they have a couple which are dedicated to FLOR carpet tiles, the easiest way to perk up a room. Now, the Fab prices aren’t all that much better than retail on these, but most of them do then come with free shipping… plus, if you had Fab credit to spend (Fab is very generous with their referral credits—you get $25 every time a new friend registers and makes their first purchase!), this could work out to be a good deal for you.
And I’m only a little bitter that FLOR either didn’t exist or I’d never heard of it back when I had a projectile-vomiting baby. How awesome would it be to be able to just swap out one fouled cube of carpet rather than having to replace the whole thing??
So much better than a land shark
Am I the only person who sees “Avon” and thinks “land shark”? I think my age (and love of Saturday Night Live) is showing. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, get off my lawn, whippersnapper!
Ahem. What were we talking about? Oh, I remember—the fact that right now at Avon you can ship any order of any size for free with coupon code FSMAY1.
I know Avon is kind of old-school, but I have to admit that I’m addicted to several of their products. The Glazewear lip gloss? Way better than the super-expensive stuff I’ve tried. And their Skin So Soft stuff still works to keep the bugs away without the children whining that “it’s greasy, it smells bad” like they do with… oh… everything else.
In short, when they have free shipping, I always manage to find something I “need.” Heh.
Fancy flatware, fabulous prices
If I were a song-composing type, I would first compose many songs to honor my favorite shoes. And dark chocolate. And probably my husband and kids, too. But after all of that, I would definitely sing you a song about how much I love my Oneida silverware.
Sure, once upon a time I tried to get away with an inferior set, back when I was young and foolish. The spoons bent in hard ice cream and fork tines went wonky and the knives developed mysterious spots in the dishwasher. But once I finally saw the light and went for the complete Oneida set? Bliss. Every single piece looks just as good as the day I bought it, except for that one spoon that went through the garbage disposal (and I really don’t think that’s Oneida’s fault).
Anyway! Today if you shop at Oneida you’ll see that they’re having a huge flatware sale—up to 70% off on some of their most popular casual flatware sets! Make it even better by using coupon code DH11, which will take another 11% off your order.
Spend $99+ and it’ll all ship for free, too. The deals are awesome, but really, can you put a price on a spoon that can stand up to a pint of Ben & Jerry’s? I think not.
Spend more, save more at Express
It’s time for more bargains at Express! Currently all clearance items will be reduced an additional 20% when you add them to your cart, plus non-clearance items are eligible for coupon code 1380, which will take $10 off your $30+ purchase or $25 off your $75+ purchase.
Spend $125+ and shipping will be free, too.
I often conclude I’m a little on the old side to shop Express, but they have shoes and accessories, too, which I can usually peruse when I’m done wondering who, exactly, wears all those miniskirts.
