Friday’s when I have great ideas
By the time we get to Friday, any semblance of sanity I once had has been used up. So when my kids asked if they could have all their friends over today, I said, “Sure!” Hold me.
Perhaps a bit of retail therapy will soothe my nerves before the invasion. Yes.
I still sometimes have dreams about the Amazon Friday Sales of yore, when there was a slew of bargains in every department. Alas. Anyway, if you like the Plum Organics Super Puffs for your little one, they’re both in today’s sale and have a coupon, so the super oranges, super greens, etc. (five varieties available!) each come out to just about $2/canister shipped when you apply coupon code PLUMPUF2 and buy via Subscribe & Save. Alternatively, if you’re not wanting organics, there’s also a bunch of Gerber Graduates options available (mmmm… cherry puffs!) with a similar deal; save 15% on those with coupon code GERBR434 and another 15% when you buy via Subscribe & Save.
Elsewhere! Today and tomorrow only, you can use coupon code GO2SALE to take $10 off your $25+ order at JC Penney. And they’re having a sale! What a coincidence.
If you’re in the market for a refurbished iPod Touch, check out Sellout.Woot—they’ve got the latest model, 8 GB, available for just $175 shipped. That’s a good $35 less than Amazon’s current price. (Perhaps they learned from yesterday’s ladder deal….)
6pm.com is once again running a shipping special, with shipping slashed to just $2.95 on every order. Today’s spotlight deal is Oakley sunglasses, but there’s plenty of shooooes to check out, besides.
Today’s Target Daily Deals feature a bunch of girls’ 2-piece suits for just $6.50 each (mostly bikinis, but a few tankinis as well), as well as an assortment of Converse One Star sneakers at a discount price. You could make the kids happy on the cheap over there, today.
Here’s what I’m going to need after a houseful of kids: Today only, shop Philosophy and select 6 ounce shower gels are just 3 for $15 (half off) with coupon code showergel. Shipping is free on your $50+ order, or $5.95, otherwise.
That should keep you busy for a while, and I’m going to go… ummmm… make sure I have snacks. Hell hath no fury like hungry children, you know.
You know Dad loves the Depot
Through June 12th, enjoy just a little additional savings at Home Depot in honor of Dad. Coupon code DADHD5 takes an additional $5 off your $50+ purchase, and code DADHD10 for $10 off your $100+ order.
It’s not a giant coupon, for sure, but I seem to always want something from there that’s online-only, and it’s nice to save a little on those purchases.
Cliched, but delicious
I know that it’s a total cliche to buy dad barbecue sauce, but this is one situation where I’m willing to look trite to eat something yummy. See how that works? (I would look trite if I bought him a tie, too, but I can’t eat a tie.)
Anyway, check this out: To celebrate Father’s Day (and beyond), Amazon is offering an additional 30% off Fischer & Wieser gourmet sauces and salsas! Take 15% off with coupon code FISCHERW, then save an additional 15% and get free shipping when you buy via Subscribe & Save.
Cliched? Maybe. But come on, look at these things—mango ginger habanero? Plum chipotle? Asian apricot? Bring on the grilling, I say!
Get a leg up with a do-it-all ladder
It’s funny—I was checking Woot this morning and saw they have a Little Giant ladder system, and I thought “Hey, I should post that, those are always really popular.” (If you haven’t seen one of these before, it’s kind of the Houdini of ladders—it can be used as a stepladder, extension ladder, stable support on stairways, even scaffolding—and is basically the only ladder you’ll ever need.)
But when I hopped on over to Amazon, imagine my surprise to discover that Woot is is offering the 19′ M-22 for $190 + shipping, but Amazon has the 22′ M-22 for just $149 and free shipping. (And yes, a quick history check confirms that this is the lowest price this ladder has ever been; plus the 47-pound shipping weight means free shipping is a deal unto itself, here.)
Sorry, Woot. I do believe Amazon just out-wooted you.
Skip the mall for your lingerie
Maybe it’s just me, but on the few occasions when I’ve actually hit up lingerie stores at the mall, there is always some creepy guy browsing in there (and by “browsing” I mean “staring at customers”) while I’m trying to find a bra. Ick. I’ll stick to ordering online, thanks!
Right now the semi-annual sale is on at Victoria’s Secret, and today is the last day to use coupon code SHIP25VS for free shipping on your $25+ order.
The lack of creepy guys while you browse is just a free bonus.
For the squinkies fans
Full disclosure: I have no idea what squinkies are. I mean, I see them. I’m looking at them. I’m guessing they’re… kind of a cross between Littlest Pet Shop and the Fisher Price Little People. Is that right? They’re little collectible play figure… things. Yes.
(Can I just say how glad I am that my kids are past the age of wanting some toy that comes in a gazillion “collectible” iterations? I may still be stepping on Legos, but at least I’m not dealing with that.)
Anyway. Despite my relative squinkies ignorance, I’m told they’re A Thing. If they’re A Thing at your house, take a look at today’s Target Daily Deals. I guess a “bubble pack” of squinkies is usually $10, and today they have twelve different sets available for just $5.99 apiece with free shipping.
So you still have creepy little figures all over your house, but you got them for 40% off. (What?)
Picture storage and transfer made easy
Have a camera that takes SD cards, and been thinking about trying out one of those cool new wireless cards, but ended up shying away from the price? Right now Amazon has the Eye-Fi 4 GB SD card available for just $22.49 (free shipping with Prime, or Super Saver Shipping eligible on $25+). While their stated original price of $100 is overinflated (surprise!), this is still a good half off what everyone else is charging.
Why Eye-Fi? It’s not just storage, but a simple way to upload and transfer your data without wires or adapters. (I have an adapter that allows me to plug my camera’s SD card into my computer. Guess how often I can’t find it?) This is perfect for less tech-savvy folks or anyone who just wants to simplify matters. And at this price it’s not that much more than a plain ol’ conventional card, too.
Please remit for my next birthday
I went through a phase where I learned how to make Fancy Cakes. I’m not sure what I thought I was accomplishing, spending half a day decorating a cake for my preschooler, who then gleefully smeared said cake in his or her hair, but I was kind of into it for a while.
I haven’t done anything like that for years, but I think I’m about to rejoin the Cult of Wilton and break out my coloring gels and such, because look at this cookie cake pan from Brylane Home and tell me that you don’t want one. No, don’t bother—I won’t believe you. I want one. It’s so adorable I can’t stand it.
it’s on clearance for $12.99, and coupon code BHAFFDIS will reduce it another 25%, making it just $9.74. Shipping is $5.
I’d like mine as a dark chocolate gluten-free cake filled with buttercream, please. Nom.
Feeling fancy?
Maybe you’ve got a little mad money tucked away, or maybe you have an upcoming fancy soiree (see, the word “soiree” automatically makes it fancy!) for which you need a fancy… frock. (Frocks are fancier than dresses. Clearly.) Or maybe you just have a weakness for a great designer. Whatever the reason, even if you wouldn’t normally check out Calvin Klein online, you’re going to want to, today. For one thing, plenty of their offerings are already on sale. For another, right now you can use coupon code CALVIN11 for an additional 30% off.
Or maybe you’re stronger than I am. Me, I cannot resist Calvin’s siren song. I’m weak, I tell you.
It’s time for Kohls
Ah, Wednesday. How did I ever get through you before the weekly Kohls sale? I can’t remember.
It’s all on sale today, plus you’ll earn $10 of Kohls Cash for every $50 spent, plus everyone gets free shipping on $75+, automatically, plus Kohls charge card holders can use code FREE4MVC for free shipping on any order and code DADSDAY30 for 30% extra off any order. (No Kohls card? No problem—use code NEW4219 for an additional 10% off, anyway.)
If that’s not enough to get you shopping, it’s like I don’t even know you. Now pardon me, I see some antigravity chairs with my name on them….
