Pamper your baby

Still in the magical (ha!) bottom-wiping phase of parenting? I had one kid I could clean off with industrial paper towels, no problem (um, not that I would’ve actually done that), and one kid who had to have Pampers wipes or would break out in a rash. Ah, memories!

Anyway, if you like Pampers wipes, here’s a deal for you: Amazon has 720 baby wipes marked down to $21. Use coupon code PMPLUVJN for 15% off, then order via Subscribe and Save for another 15% off and free shipping. The end result? 720 wipes to your door for $14.69, or about 2 cents per wipe. Crazy.

And may all your bottoms be… ummm… clean and happy. Heh.

New month, new grocery savings!

The only thing that mitigates my horror when I realize another month has flown by is the soothing balm of a new crop of Amazon Grocery Specials.

Okay, now that I’ve written that out? It seems a little weird. But it’s true!

For example, they’ve got all my favorite Kitchens of India products on special once again; save 25% with code KITCH556 and then save another 15% and get free shipping when you buy via Subscribe & Save. That’s 40% off on top of the markdowns already taken, and if you’ve never had Kitchens of India, it is hands down the best “convenience” Indian food you can buy.

I’d still like to know where the heck May went, but I find a discounted case of butter chicken paste is going a long way towards making me feel better….

Order first, fix later

Good morning! I just wanted to mention something that happened yesterday as a general little bargaining nugget. So, remember how yesterday I told you about some cute sandals in the Target Daily Deals and told you I bought two pairs? What I didn’t mention was that it charged me shipping when I placed my order.

And I was in the middle of the woods when I did it, so—mindful of the fact that my preferred size/colors might sell out—I placed the order anyway.

When I got home, I called Target customer service. First the lady on the phone tried to tell me my order had to be $50 to get free shipping (no—Daily Deals always ship for free), then she tried to tell me that only the first color got free shipping (no—besides being untrue, I was able to add those to my cart and get charged shipping as well, so clearly it was an error).

I remained cordial and polite, but did eventually end up speaking with a supervisor to get the shipping credited back to me. A minor inconvenience (I think I was on the phone for 15 minutes), but easy enough. And should it for some reason have proved a problem, I could’ve canceled my order.

Moral of the story: When you know you’re right, don’t be afraid to (gently) push. But order first so that what you want doesn’t sell out.

Happy Memorial Day!

Good morning! We are still in the woods, but thanks to the magic of wifi, I can stop in and say a hearty thank-you to all the brave men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country, as well as pointing out that there are pretty shoes to be had today.

Not only does 6pm.com have the usual crop of deals going on (70% off BCBG? Be still my heart!), but through the end of today, if you spend $100+, you’ll get free shipping.

I cannot tell a lie; I ordered the Mossimo sandals featured in today’s Target Daily Deals in two colors. At $12, why not? They’ve also got a great deal on a beautiful gazebo, and if you spend $50+, remember to click through this link for another $5 off.

The Amazon Gold Box has one of those fancy Cricut combo packages; not cheap, but if you’re a serious scrapper and it’s something you’ve been thinking about investing in, maybe worth a look.

Many of the deals I posted Friday and Saturday are expiring tonight, so you might want to go back through and make sure you didn’t miss anything, too.

And now I have to go make sure we’ve gotten as much of the great outdoors tracked into our stuff as possible before we had home. Anyone need a little dirt? I probably have some extra….

Saturday deals

Goooood morning! Here’s hoping your weekend has started off on a good note. Know what is not a great note? When you go camping and there’s a big storm and it turns out that your dog is afraid of storms. Haha! Joke’s on us. Ahem. Please pass the coffee. Then you go shopping while I catch a nap, mmkay?

Maybe it’s because I’m sleepy, but I can’t stop laughing at today’s Target Daily Deals. They have a tiki tissue box cover that makes it look like the tissues are coming out the face’s nose. Yes, I’m a 10-year-old boy in real life. I’m sorry.

Get deals at 6pm.com today on everything from Skechers to Betseyville.

The Memorial Day Sale is on at Macy’s, with specials for the weekend and free shipping on $99+.

The Amazon Gold Box appears to be audio-themed today, which means they have speakers and stuff that confuse me, but make my husband go “Ooooh.” So, um, maybe that’s good?

Clearly I need more coffee. Much, much more coffee….

Happy holiday weekend

Is everyone ready for a three-day weekend? We have big, exciting plans here. So of course everyone is sick. Obviously. Maybe I can drown my sorrows in a little retail therapy…?

They’ve added another category back to the Amazon Friday Sale; it’s still lacking, compared to the old days, but it’s a step in the right direction. (And if you’ve been looking for discounted Automoblox, they have the green truck set down to $22, which is pretty good when you consider they almost never go on sale.)

6pm‘s featuring deals on Roxy, Privo, Nine West, and more, today. Not that I’m looking. Ahem.

Need to stock up on vitamins? This weekend is the time to shop at Puritan’s Pride; through Monday, you can use coupon code TAPMDAY to save 10% on any order and get free shipping. And that’s on top of their regular buy-one-get-one or buy-two-get-three deals. (I buy all of our vitamins and supplements from Puritan’s Pride. By the time I’m done it feels like they’re paying me to take stuff.)

There’s a big sale on at Toys R Us this weekend, with free shipping on $100+ (though some exclusions apply, like you can’t just buy a Nintendo and get free shipping).

And of course Children’s Place is doing a $5 sale this weekend, though their last coupon has expired, so there’s no extra savings at the moment. but coupon code MEMORIAL2010 will work for 20% off through 5/31/10 (thanks, Sabrina!).

Today’s the last day for free shipping at LittleMissMatched; use code SUMMERFREE.

That should keep you busy for a while. At least long enough for me to go minister to the cranky, anyway….

Not dead, really

I seem to have wandered off for half the day, here. I’m juggling several other activities at the moment, including: 1) getting ready for a trip and 2) being deathly ill. Go, me.

Nevertheless, this morning when I checked the Amazon Gold Box it showed the current offering as being sold out, which was weird. And then I forgot about it. But now it’s back—a Canon PIXMA iP4700 Premium Inkjet Photo Printer for just $40 shipped. That’s a handy little gizmo to have around to print your own photos.

What’s more, the current Lightning Deal is a multitool doohickey (yes, that’s the technical term) for just $10. That’d make a good stocking stuffer, if you buy it now and keep track of it until the holidays.

Just in time for, well, whatever

I like how summer offers plenty of holiday and event opportunities for justifying a pretty new outfit or three. Because there’s Memorial Day, and Fourth of July, and those people are getting married, and then before you know it, it’s Labor Day….

Okay, I’m stretching the whole justification thing. But you get the idea.

Assuming that you have a holiday/wedding/just-because event coming up, you might want to hop on over to Coldwater Creek, where coupon code AFLA764 will allow you to take half off of anything, even items in the Outlet.

Sure, you could use it to pick up some gifts for other folks, too, but if you happened to find something cute for yourself, well, who could blame you?

May is winding down…

… and that means time is running out to scoop up this month’s Amazon Grocery deals before they go!

I ordered at the beginning of the month, but I think I’m going to do this Oskri Organics deal one more time; they make some of my favorite granola bars (gluten-free, too!) and their dried cranberries put Ocean Spray to shame.

Items are already marked down, plus use coupon code OSKRO5IO to save another 15%, and purchase via Subscribe & Save to get another 15% off and free shipping, to boot.

Yeah, I’m aware that such excitement over snack deals may say something about my life that isn’t exactly flattering. Fortunately, when I’m well-fed I don’t really care.

Better baskets, smaller prices

Are you a fan of Longaberger baskets? Funny story: When I got married the first time—child bride that I was—someone gave us a Longaberger bread basket and I had no idea what it was. I mean, I knew it was a basket for bread, but I thought it was kind of a weird (not to mention cheap) gift. Years later when I found out what they go for I was quite appalled at my younger self’s ignorance. Whoops.

Sixteen years later, that basket still looks like brand new, and I use it all the time. So.

Longtime Want Not reader Patti happens to be a Longaberger consultant, and she emailed to let me know that for Memorial Day, everything online is 30% off. Longaberger tends to have sales never, so this is a great opportunity to purchase if you’ve been debating an item or two. Although you may want to save the really nice bread basket for someone who will appreciate it, not a young and stupid bride. Heh.

(Thanks for the tip, Patti!)
