Hey, this is new
Admit it—you were just waiting for me to come tempt you with today’s 6pm.com shoe deals, making little cracks about my love of shoes and how you always have room for just one more pair. I’m predictable, I know.
But prepare to be amazed, because I’m not going to say one word about their shoes, today. Instead I’m going to say ohmygosh I just went through the sale handbags and at these prices, I can actually afford to get one of those bags I’m accustomed to just drooling over while wondering if I’ll ever win the lottery. (Answer: No, I will not. It’s hard to win when you don’t play.)
So, see, sometimes I’m unpredictable. A little. Hush up.
Nothing says love like a netbook
Oh, you mean a wee adorable little computer doesn’t scream “romantic Valentine’s Day” to you? Whatever.
I have a netbook, and while it would make me crazy to use it as my primary computer (my hands are pretty small, but still, the reduced-size keyboard takes some getting used to), I’m pretty happy to have something I can tuck in my purse and take anywhere.
That said, I have to tell you that my netbook is an older model and somewhat clunky, and also a totally boring white. If I was purchasing now, I’m not sure I’d be able to resist one of these refurbished Acers from Buy.com—choose from red or blue for just $240 shipped, each. These little babies are packed with features, including long-life batteries and webcams. They’re kind of romantic, really.
Well, okay. Romantic is a bit of a stretch. But they sure are cheap….
Swiss Army savings
I guess that whole “all babies, all the time” thing is over at Target, now. I mean, it was nice while it lasted. But I never did convince my husband we needed to go buy a baby.
Now they’re back to all kinds of different products in the Target Daily Deals section, and today their featured deal is a fancy-schmancy Swiss Army knife for just $15 delivered. (Use coupon code URTYJLI8 and it’s down to just $13.50!)
This is the sort of deal where I spend a lot of time hovering over the “buy” button, as the reality of giving either of my children a sharp implement really sinks in. But, um, I’m sure your kids are a lot more responsible than mine.
Charge it up, cheap
Need rechargeable batteries? Check out this Energizer battery charger with 2 AAA and 2 AA batteries at Buy.com—it’s just $13 shipped.
So, yeah, it’s probably not ultra-top-of-the-line, but perfectly suitable for the kids’ cameras or whatever.
I mean, unless your kids all have their own Eneloop chargers, in which case I’m available for adoption.
New fillings not included
I, personally, will not be buying 10 pounds of Sour Patch Kids, because I’m on a diet and I have a kid in braces and even though they’re my family’s favorite candy ever, ten pounds is a lot of Sour Patch Kids, y’all.
But maybe you have ten kids or you’re having a “let’s ruin our teeth” party, in which case 10 pounds of Sour Patch Kids for just $25 shipped is a good deal and a great idea. Just sayin’.
Yep, it’s that time again
Time to stock up on certificates from Restaurant.com! Through February 14th, 2010, just use coupon code PAYPAL to take 80% off your purchase, making $25 dining certificates a mere $2 out-of-pocket.
What could be more romantic than saving $23 on dinner? (Don’t answer that, I’m riding this bargain high. Shhhh.)
As always, rules and restrictions vary from restaurant to restaurant, so be sure to read the fine print before you buy. But then go forth and dine out at eat-in prices.
[Edited to add: Oh, wait. Now they’ve emailed me that if you use HEART you’ll get the same 80% off, plus you’ll also get a $15 FTD Floral Reward redeemable towards flowers. Nice!]
I’ll be there, with cute shoes on
I’m digging today’s deals at 6pm.com, not the least of which because they have RSVP shoes for up to 80% off, and that’s one of my favorite brands to get something a little bit cute for not very much money.
Just sharing in case you, you know, have a party to get to or something.
Breakfast!
Just in case you didn’t happen to notice it during that football game last weekend, today Denny’s is offering free Grand Slam breakfasts until 2:00 p.m.
I will be here at my desk sipping coffee, both because pancakes are not part of my diet and because, um, we don’t have a Denny’s. But you go and enjoy. (Need help? Find your local Denny’s.)
Someone have a piece of bacon for me, okay?
Cheap shipping on the good deals
Today and tomorrow (that’s February 8th and 9th, 2010), Macy’s is offering $.99 shipping on clearance items. This is my favorite time to snag that dress or purse I’ve been eying but haven’t wanted to pay $8 to ship.
It’s $.99 per item, so not the greatest deal if you’re buying a lot of stuff, but just right for when you’ve been waffling over just one or two things. Because Macy’s does have awfully pretty things, though I’m going to wait for the clearance to even look, and then wait for this deal to buy.
(My name is Mir, and I’m am enabler.)
For all my fellow tween girl moms
We are not discussing this, because actually talking about it! Out loud! On the Internet! Would be, like, totally embarrassing, and stuff.
But let’s just say that for $3, Kotex may have something you’ll want for your daughter, in a pretty package, and we don’t have to discuss it, but it’s perfectly natural, honey.
Really, all that’s missing from that kit is a chocolate bar. (I may just add one, myself.)
