Two free tacos, maybe
Do you have a local Jack in the Box? My closest one is in South Carolina, which is a little far for me to go for free tacos, but hey—maybe you have a local one, or maybe you feel more strongly about tacos than I do. I don’t judge.
Today (August 11th, 2009) only, use this printable coupon to get yourself two free tacos at Jack in the Box.
I’m pretty sure they’ll take the coupon even if you think their commercials are incredibly creepy. (Because, let’s face it: their commercials are incredibly creepy.)
Update on the EnviroKidz deal
For those of you who took part in this deal on EnviroKidz bars wherein buying them from Vitamin Shoppe via Amazon supposedly made them $5/case, I have good news and bad news.
The bad news, of course, is that Vitamin Shoppe intended that to be $5/box, not for a whole case. As we are all now discovering, those of us who ordered a case are receiving just a box.
The good news is that I’ve been pretty impressed with the customer service at Vitamin Shoppe; when I called (1-800-223-1216), I was transferred to Customer Care and they explained that my refund will have to come from directly Amazon, but that they would arrange for that. When I asked how I could return the bars, they told me to just keep them.
I’d rather have the two cases I ordered for $11ish shipped, sure; but in lieu of that, I’m sure not going to complain about two free boxes.
Dig our your order number and call. As always, be pleasant—it’s not the fault of the call center person that they screwed up the web site. They realize this is a problem, and they’re scrambling to fix it. In my mind, they’re handling it as well as they possibly can, and despite the error, I will likely shop them again.
Get booted
In addition to the other daily deals they have today at 6pm.com, they’re offering select Sorels for just $19.95, which means you could pick up some winter boots now for less than what they’ll cost in the end-of-season sales next year.
And yeah, they have hiking boots and shoes and stuff as well. But those winter boots, man, those are the amazing deal today.
It is a testament of my love to you all that I go out and get excited about winter boots when it’s currently 93 degrees outside, by the way. Just sayin’.
Hello, McFly!
Although I am slightly disappointed that my beloved Time Capsule doesn’t allow me to travel back in time so that I can have a really good chocolate malt, I do appreciate how it automatically keeps my computer backed up and I never have to worry again about experiencing a catastrophic crash and realizing I haven’t backed up for a month.
Not that that’s ever happened to me, before. (Not more than once, anyway. Ahem.)
Today Buy.com has a refurbished Time Capsule for just $170 shipped, which is another $20 or so off of the price of getting it directly from Apple.
It’s a back-up drive, it’s a router, it slices and dices and makes julienne fries with ease. Well, the first two, anyway. Not a bad deal if you were thinking about getting one, is my point.
Even cooler
You’ve probably already hightailed it over to the Threadless Back 2 Cool Sale, but if you didn’t make it over there yet (for your awesome shirts as low as $8 apiece), it’s your lucky day!
Now you can not only reap the savings on hundreds of their designs, you can also use coupon code awesome27945 to save an additional $3! The code’s good through 10:00 a.m. Central Time on August 13th, so get to it before it expires.
I pink puffy heart Threadless.
High definition, lower price
If you’ve been jonesing for a HD pocket camcorder, check out today’s Amazon Gold Box Deal—it’s a Creative Labs Vado HD for just under $100.
Now, you know I’m a Flip fan. We own two Flips and I love ’em. But the comparable Flip HD costs a lot more, so this might be a good compromise if you’ve been wanting an increase in quality without going to nearly double the price. Just sayin’.
The reviews are largely favorable. I’d definitely take a look if you’re in the market for HD.
Take that, HFCS
Hey, my very favorite no-high-fructose-corn-syrup hard candy is on sale again! You have through the end of August to save 45% on select Yummy Earth lollipops and drops when you purchase 2 or more and use coupon code YEARTH44.
(I’m trying to decide if I like the rest of the neighborhood enough to go for a couple of the 5-pound bags and use these for Halloween.)
Back-to-school savings at JCP
I’m not a giant huge fan of JC Penney—I don’t have anything against them, mind you, I just often find myself finding them sort of meh—but now that we’ve entered the land of school uniforms, I’ve realized they’re good in a pinch.
Like when I think I’m all smart ordering my daughter just one pair of pants along with her shorts and skorts, because hey, it’s August in Georgia and I have plenty of time! But then she tells me that it’s freezing inside the school and she wants to wear pants every day. Whoops. And the clearance Lands’ End pants I bought her are now sold out. Double whoops.
Thanks to current $10 off $10+ coupon code GET4BTS, I was able to pick her up a second pair of pants, quick and cheap. Huzzah!
Want a DS Lite before the holidays?
So, remember back when we talked about whether or not the release of the Nintendo DSi would cause prices to drop on the DS Lites? And it looked like Nintendo just wasn’t going to bite? That’s still pretty much the case—the assumption seems to be that die-hard gamers will pony up the extra $50 for a camera on their handheld, and everyone else can just deal. And if you’re really just looking for a game console for your kid, that still kind of stinks.
But! This week, Target has various colors of their DS Lites on sale for just $99! This is a great time to beat the holiday rush and pick one up if you’re planning on getting one to help Santa out, or whatever. Now, you have two choices; you can go to the store, or you can buy one online. Buying online means you’ll pay for shipping, but you can use coupon code TGTBBY92 for 10% off, which should balance out the shipping. Currently, however, silver is sold out online. You can still get crimson/black, cobalt, or metallic rose online as of this posting, however.
Happy shopping!
It’s not bribery if you’re just thoughtful
I like to start off every school year by giving my kids’ teachers sacks full of tissues, wipes, paper towels, and hand sanitizer. Because I’m a good citizen. Also also because when my kids are rotten, I don’t want that teacher (who I don’t yet know) to try to remember which parents to call and then recall “And they didn’t bring me any classroom supplies.” Ahem.
Of course, if I were to go take advantage of the Vistaprint Back-To-School offers, I could’ve gotten them things like personalized notepads and encouragement stickers and the like. That would’ve been even better!
Depending on how rotten your kids are (or if you need some office supplies for yourself), you might want to check it out.
