Live from the waiting room!
So my son just got taken back into surgery, which his doctor assures me is “so routine I could do it in my sleep.” (The “I” being him, not me.) Now we wait.
I don’t know about you, but deals always make me feel better….
The Target Daily Deals have a 6-pack of little scented lotions for $6 that would be a great stocking stuffer, if you want to get started on next year. (I know, I know. It’s insanely early. Just sayin’.)
Meanwhile, over at the Amazon Friday Sale, we have… coffee! Try to contain your shock! Lots and lots of coffee. And also some tea. And plenty of Kool-Aid (?). (We don’t drink that, but we do sometimes use it to dye my daughter’s hair. Heh.)
The Gold Box holds a 32-inch Toshiba 1080p HDTV for just $350, which is a pretty sweet deal if you’re in the market for one.
Gap is running a 30% off coupon this weekend—use code GAPSPRING for 30% off almost everything (some restrictions apply). I love how these coupons never work on women’s “premium” pants. What, I wonder, makes them premium? Save 30% at Banana Republic this weekend, too, with coupon code BRWINTER.
And if you’re feeling in the mood for something fancy, it’s Luxe Weekend at 6pm.com—plenty of expensive brands at less-expensive prices.
And in the time it took me to write this, they finished surgery. All is well! Now that’s a good Friday.
Not dead, I swear
Apologies for the unexpected absence, today—I didn’t mean to abandon you! One appointment somehow turned into three and then, poof, the whole day was gone. I will try to do better tomorrow, but my son is having surgery in the morning, so we’ll see how it goes. (Surely I can blog while he’s having his tonsils and adenoids removed….)
By way of apology, did you happen to notice that Clarks are up to 75% off at 6pm.com today…? (Sorry, that’s the best I can manage after a day of shuttling a sick, cranky kid around to doctors’ appointments.)
Even better
Hey, remember when Express started taking 20% extra off clearance? That was pretty sweet. But now they’re taking an extra 40% off clearance, which is even better! Discount is reflected in your cart.
Shipping is automatically free on your $100+ order, too.
I was able to resist, last time, but my resolve is weakening….
A little leisure reading
Time to stock up on the magazines you barely have time to read, anyway? (Okay, maybe that’s just me….) If you head on over to Discount Mags, today, you can get either (or both) of my favorite magazines for just $3/year, for up to three years.
To get the special pricing on Family Fun, use coupon code 3592. To get it on Family Circle, use code 8308. Family Fun is a particularly good pick if you’d like to train your minions foster creativity and independence in your kids, as they have lots of crafts that require minimum help/supervision from Mom. I’m sure I don’t have to even insert the obligatory “priceless!” joke here, right?
Fibery!
I can’t remember when I last stocked up on cereal at the grocery store, given all of the bulk deals I’ve been getting at Amazon. And today they’ve got one of my secret Mom weapons—a 4-Pack of Fiber One Caramel Delight cereal, suitable for children’s sweet-tooth tastebuds, but actually packed with lots of fiber and therefore slightly less guilt-inducing than, say, Froot Loops. It’s marked down to $9.60, then buy via Subscribe & Save for 15% off and apply coupon code BIGGNYNY for another 15% off, and you’ll have 4 boxes at your doorstep for just $6.72 delivered.
If you prefer something a little less sweet, check out the 4-pack of Fiber One Raisin Bran Clusters at the same price, available with the same discounts.
I want you to know that it’s taking all of my energy and restraint not to make a joke about regularity here. You’re welcome.
You know what Wednesday means
Wednesday can only mean one thing—there’s a Kohls sale on!
Today’s your last day to use coupon code LOVE2SAVE30 for an additional 30% off your order with your Kohls charge card, and to use code LUVMVC for free shipping on any order (also with a Kohls card). You can also redeem your Kohls Cash right now.
No Kohls card? Shipping is automatically free on $75+, and you can use coupon code sweeps10 for an extra 10% off, anyway.
I see some cute stuff in the clearance. Um, not that I’m looking. Ahem.
Saved by the Wisp
Like, Mom, it’s so not cool to take a toothbrush and toothpaste to school. Do you want everyone to think I’m a nerd? I mean, okay, a bigger nerd than I actually am? Plus the bathrooms are scary. I try not to go in there if I don’t have to. Sure, lunch gets stuck in my braces or whatever, or sometimes I have sunbutter breath all afternoon, fine. I’m just not interested in having my head shoved into a sink full of my own toothpaste spit.
What? Oh, I love those little Wisp things! I can just throw a few in my purse and use ’em right after lunch, no rinsing or spitting required, and then throw them away. What do you mean they’re too expensive? Today you can go get a 48-pack of Wisps in your chosen flavor at Woot, and it’s only $4.99 plus $5 shipping. Heck, you can get as many as 3 48-packs for that $5 shipping charge! I know that a 32-pack at Amazon is nearly $16, but this is way cheaper. And you know how you love a deal, Mom.
Okay, well, I have to go. Anything stuck in my braces? No? Awesome. Love you! Bye!
Our new favorite game
Do you Qwirkle? I picked this up on a Lightning Deal before Christmas, swayed by the great reviews, but not really sure what to expect. I think it may be my new favorite game. If you’ve never played it, it’s sort of like Dominoes and Blokus had a baby and then put that baby on steroids. (Wait; I’m not sure that sounds as appealing as I’d like it to….)
The point is:
1) It’s super fun, and can be enjoyed by even little kids and adults alike (my husband and I have been known to play it after the kids are in bed, even)
and
2) Qwirkle is normally around $20 on sale, but is currently just under $14 at Amazon right now.
More shoes, because why not
Today is shaping up to be a crazy busy day, so if I know I’m going to be away from the computer for a while, you know I like to leave you with a shoe deal. It seems only fair.
Right now the famous BOGO is on at Payless (that’s buy one, get one half price), plus you can use coupon code 41030 for another 20% off your order. Shipping is a flat $5.95, or free to your local store if you’re willing to go pick ’em up.
This is a particularly good deal when you need to buy shoes for little feet that refuse to stop growing so fast.
Warehouse, without leaving the house
It’s time for the Lands’ End Warehouse Event, and you don’t even have to get up off the couch to check it out. (Did anyone else used to hear about the Lands’ End “Inlet” stores and feel very jealous that other people could shop the overstocks and such in person? You know, back in the day when we still mostly shopped in stores, and Lands’ End was just another glossy catalog? This is like having an Inlet on your computer.)
Use coupon code shippingisfree and PIN 5859 for free shipping on any order, so order as much or as little as you like and don’t worry about shipping. I see items starting at $2, so I’m guessing the good stuff is going to sell out pretty fast.
