Free eats at Starbucks tomorrow
Thanks to everyone who sent this one in, because I am not a regular Starbucks person and would’ve totally missed it: Tomorrow (July 21st, 2009) you can get a free pastry item at Starbucks with your drink purchase.
You do have to print out the coupon, there, or show the barista the coupon on your phone. (I do like that option. It’s going to be a sea of iPhones at Starbucks tomorrow, I bet.) And then, of course, you have to buy your overpriced drink. But still. Free pastry!
My bitter, wheat-free self will be here at home. But you go. Enjoy. Don’t mind me.
Get there, even if you’re me
Yesterday I was trying to coordinate a meeting with a friend and she told me where she was and said, “So you know how far that is to your place.” There was a pause and as I said, “Did you forget who you’re talking to…?” she simultaneously added, “Oh, right, no you don’t.”
My lack of navigational ability is legendary. Which is why I love my GPS, because it allows me to pretend I know where I’m going.
Today Buy.com is offering a refurbished Garmin Nuvi 255 for just $120 shipped. For reference, this unit gets 4.5 stars and costs $30 more, new, over at Amazon.
This Nuvi offers the all-important text-to-speech feature (says “Turn right on Oak Street” rather than just “Turn right”), as well as having all the other things you really love in a GPS unit, like the ability to save you from looking like a brain-damaged person who’s incapable of reading a map.
Or maybe that’s just me.
Now cheaper to leave under your coffee table
Remember how excited I was when I got my Wii Fit? Remember how I vowed I was going to use it all the time? Well, I did. For a while. And now it, um, helps to hold my coffee table in place. Because I forgot about the thing where I hate exercising. Whoops!
Of course, a summer full of eating has driven me back to it, as I try (once more) to make my hatred of my expanding backside outweight my hatred of exercise for the sake of exercising.
Anyway, I just noticed that for the first time, Amazon has marked down the Wii Fit! It’s now $83, down from its original price of $90. That means you can feel 8% less guilty about leaving it under your coffee table when you’d rather eat ice cream than exercise, too. Awesome.
Saturday deals
Good morning! I’m loading up the camper. Again. Please shop for me while I’m gone.
Hooray—I love a chance to avoid the mall—Old Navy is offering free shipping on your $75+ order with coupon code FREE75 through July 29th, 2009.
This weekend only, take 20% off any size order at Eastbay.com with coupon code LKS17189. (Looks like there’s a coupon on the site for 30% off if your order is $199+, too, so this is a good time to buy the shoes and equipment for upcoming fall sports.)
Enjoy $.99 shipping on clearance items at Macy’s this weekend! Just use code 99CENTS.
There’s all kinds of deals this weekend at 6pm.com, including Via Spiga shoes which are so, sooooo pretty…. Oh, excuse me. I drooled a little on the keyboard, there. Ahem.
Over at Sierra Trading Post, spending $100+ will get you 20% off your entire order, automatically, through that there link.
They’re wrapping up movie week in the Amazon Gold Box, with a slew of collections available on the cheap, today.
There’s going to be a contest later on today, so do check back. (Whoops, I did a teaser for the wrong contest, before. Gah. Need More Coffee.) I’m feeling musical today….
Hoping for some Friday Sale nostalgia
Remember back when the Amazon Friday Sale was still really good? Yeah, back in the old days. I’m hoping this week brings us back to those halcyon days. Let’s see….
These Chaco sneakers are as low as $38 shipped, depending on the size/color combo. I’ve never owned Chacos—haven’t found the right deal, yet—but everyone I know who wears them (the sandals are very popular ’round here) swears they’re the greatest thing ever. Apparently they have better arch support than just about anything else.
Need a heavy-duty tool bag? There’s two great choices from Ridgid; get the 17″x9″x9″ for $15 shipped or the 22″x12″x11″ for $17 shipped.
We have a set of these sticker frames, and (sadly!) I paid a lot more than $17 bucks for them. They’re wallies; they work via static cling and are infinitely reconfigurable and reusable. They’re particularly awesome for a tween or teen, because they can redecorate at will!
I would probably take a chance on this chair and ottoman for $350 and free shipping, if I was in the market for such a thing. I have something that looks very similar, and no, I am not going to tell you how much I paid for it. Heh.
It’s a hammock for your dog! To keep pet hair off the car seats! Brilliant. I would totally go out and get a dog just so that I would have a use for this. (Okay, maybe we’ve been thinking about getting a dog, anyway, but still….)
Need a spare bed for under $100?
Who needs cookware? Choose from this 12-piece Cuisinart nonstick Chef’s Classic set for $138, this sexy red KitchenAid Reserved 12-piece set for $137, or keep it basic with this Farberware set for $91 (which also has an available $20 rebate).
Amazon is finishing out their movie week with a Gold Box Deal on 5-disc collector’s edition of Blade Runner on DVD, or just the movie itself on Blu-ray. (5 entire discs about Blade Runner?? That’s dedication.)
And if it’s tunes you’re after, don’t forget that there’s 50 MP3 albums available for just $5 each, ready for download.
This is a start, Friday Sale. Better than it’s been. Let’s keep improving, shall we? I want to see cheap sheets! Bargain-basement groceries! And—of course—quesadilla makers!
I’m totally friends with Starbucks
Gotten anything good on Facebook lately? I just got my coupon for a free pint of Stabucks ice cream in the mail today, and I realized I’d never posted it here. Whoops.
Going to that URL allows you to “share” a free pint with someone. Don’t worry—they don’t mind if you share it with yourself! They’re giving away 800 coupons every hour, so check near the top of the hour if you miss out the first time you click through.
Mmmm… Starbucks ice cream….
That’s (cheap) Entertainment!
Been on the fence about buying an Entertainment book? Unsure if you’ll really use enough of the coupons to come out ahead?
We’re halfway through 2009, and now’s the time to take a test spin: For the rest of the month, you can buy any Entertainment Book for just $7.99. There are (amongst other things) generally buy 1 movie ticket, get 1 free coupons in there—so pick up your book, go to the movies once, and voila, it’s paid for itself already. (Well, shipping is $5/book I stand corrected; shipping may be as low as just a buck or two. Still a great deal, but you may have to go to the movies twice. Heh.) But you’ll use more than that, trust me. I’m always amazed at what I find in those little books.
This is a great way to test out Entertainment and decide if you want to buy a book for next year.
A few dailies, hot off the grill
Here’s a round-up of the dailies to check out while you’re cruising around, today:
Amazon is continuing movie week in the Gold Box with your choice of formats for the Dirty Harry Ultimate Collector’s set, today. Go ahead… make my day.
6pm.com has a variety of deals, including Dockers shoes for the guys for just $29.95 and less.
The featured Target Daily Deal today is a lovely craft tote/basket, which I would totally buy if I ever, you know, crafted anything other than blog posts. Those Lucky jeans on sale are more my speed, I guess, so it’s a good thing they’re on sale, too.
Okay, time for a second cup of coffee….
The early bird catches the sale worm
Please don’t throw anything at me—yes, I do know it’s only July—but it just so happens that many Halloween costumes are currently marked way down at the Disney Store Outlet, plus you can use coupon code OUTLET50 to take another 50% off. (Ouch! Hey, I said no throwing!) I know it’s early, but this is your chance to get costumes for upwards of 80% off retail price.
If you have your heart set on a fancy costume for your little one, or if you have multiple children to buy for, this may be your chance to scoop up the savings and look all organized and stuff when you’re ready so far ahead of schedule.
Buying $89+ worth? You can also apply code SHIPTODAY for flat $5 shipping on your $89+ order.
(Sorry, but I don’t have a coupon code to assure your kid doesn’t change his mind three days before Halloween. Still looking.)
I feel like Goldilocks
I wanted to give y’all a quick update on my appliance situation, because I’ve been meaning to tell you about something other than just my awesome new washer and dryer.
I’ve also received a new refrigerator and microwave—both of which I’ll tell you about soon—and, most recently, a new stove. Now, it was the stove I was super-excited about, because it has a “Fits More Oven” and comes with four racks, as well as a special rack that allows you to convert it to a half-rack in case you’re cooking something tall down below, but still want to slide a smaller dish in above it. Also, it can be used as a regular oven or a convection oven, and it has all kinds of special stuff with the burners (adjustable size, a rapid-boil burner), too.
But I can’t tell you about all of that yet, because there’s been a small snafu, and I feel like I’d be remiss in not sharing what’s been happening. read more…
