Insert your own organizational joke here

It’s never going to stop being funny to me, how excited y’all get over deals on label makers. First there was sliced bread, and it was pretty cool, but man, once those label makers came along…! Well, hey, whatever floats your boat. Plus, I bet you know exactly where everything is.

Anyway, today you can pick up a Brother P-Touch 1010 label maker from Buy.com for a cool $9.99 shipped. (It has good reviews and a much higher price over at Amazon.)

Go forth and label!

Because going organic shouldn’t mean going broke

I don’t have a local Costco, which is—if I am to believe my sources who enjoy its allure regularly—something of a mecca for cheap organics. Some of us live in the boonies, and some of us have to rely on local sales and Amazon grocery deals to get the organics we love at reasonable prices.

So even though I’m currently on the road, you’d better believe I’m surfing through the current organic grocery 50%+ off deals at Amazon to see what yummy stuff we can score at non-organic prices. Like, I can buy a case of chocolate Newman-O’s for about $2/package after the Subscribe & Save discount. (These are normally upwards of $5/pack at my local store.) Ditto for the Fig Newmans, which are my son’s favorite. Sure, they’re still cookies, but they’re organic cookies that my kids love. Cheap. Score!

Rock on with your bad self

I’ve been cracking jokes about needing Guitar Hero ever since we first got our Wii, but in the end I’ve always abstained on the basis that it was 1) expensive and 2) not a great family game, with only one guitar.

Then this morning I see that the Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit for Wii is down to just under $90, and I feel like I may be out of excuses. That’s enough instruments for everyone to play together, and that’s family bonding time, right? Right?? Maybe for Christmas….

(Other platforms are on sale, too, if you’re the Xbox or Playstation sort. Rationalization isn’t limited to Wii owners!)

Saturday deals

Goooooooooood morning! Did you have a good sleep? Have you had your coffee? Excellent. Let’s get deal-hunting.

Kohls is still offering free shipping on orders of $75+, and today everyone can use coupon code TWENTY4U to take 20% off your entire order (no Kohls card needed). If you do have a Kohls card, you can also use code MVC4490 for free shipping on any size order.

If you haven’t yet stocked the family up with Crocs for the summer, get on over to the Crocs Online Outlet; not only are there deals galore and savings of up to 75% off, you’ll get free shipping on every order for a limited time.

Right now if you visit Toys R Us through that there link, you’ll not only find their Bonus Days promotion happening (there’s an extra 20% off clearance toys), as well as tons of items which ship for free, but you’ll also automatically receive an additional $10 off your $75+ purchase. Sweet!

Someone please keep me away from 6pm.com today; not only is there half-price Lucky and Nike stuff this weekend, they have select Dansko shoes at under $50. And probably some other stuff. But I had to close the window when I read about the Danskos.

It looks like prices have just been slashed again in the Monster Sale at The Children’s Place, plus coupon code NEXTJ78 should still be working for 10% off. Place an order and you’ll get a code good for 15% off your next order, too! (This is how they reel you in….)

Don’t forget—you still have a few more days to enter the Special Bedtime Moments contest both here and on the GoodNites site; you can enter once per day so I’m utterly confused as to why y’all haven’t flooded the comments with entries. Maybe no one wants that $250 swag tote…? Hmmm.

Enjoy the weekend!

This Friday Sale brought to you from the road

Neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor a ridiculously early alarm while working our way up the east coast can keep me from my appointed Friday Sale rounds, people. That’s dedication! Or obsession. Take your pick.

I don’t really believe these lights were originally $269 (price inflation much, Amazon?), but $50 for the pair is still a pretty sweet deal.

I can’t decide if my favorite part about this Neverlate alarm clock is its ambition name, all the bells and whistles, or the fact that it’s eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion. You know, in case you need four $45 alarm clocks.

Need a spare queen bed for around $100?

I’m not usually a crystal pitcher kind of gal, but this Lenox pitcher would be a lovely wedding gift for under $30. (Pair it with the suggested goblets and you’ll look really generous.)

When you’re really serious about making Belgian waffles, $69 for that one is actually a good idea. Frankly, I don’t know that I’ve ever been that serious about breakfast food, but to each her own.

I’ve never had this Goji juice (nor any of the other varieties in the sale today), but I gather it’s pretty expensive, normally, and between today’s sale, Subscribe & Save, and coupon code GOJIJUIC, it comes out to under $2/bottle. If it’s the miracle product it purports to be, that’s a good deal. If it’s just overpriced juice, well, then it’s just slightly-less-overpriced juice. You’re welcome.

$80 for this Panasonic Vortex razor is not bad. Particularly if you drink Goji Juice while shaving. (Okay, I made that last part up. Has anyone seen my coffee…?)

Don’t forget to check the Gold Box for more goodies; today’s deal is the Ocean’s trilogy (mmmm… George Clooney and Brad Pitt…) for just $17 on DVD or $37 on Blu-ray, and who knows what goodies await in the Lightning Deals later today.

I’m off to… stare out the window. I think we’re in Maryland. But it’s my job to yell “Welcome to Pennsylvania!” once we cross the state line, so I need to be ready. Truly, my husband would be unable to make this trek without me. Moral support, and all.

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Only haters and kitten-kickers don’t like cookies

I love cookies (I’m sure that comes as an enormous shock). And I love making my own cookies, but sometimes there just isn’t time.

If you’re in need of a “thanks for letting us stay with you” or a “sorry we can’t be there” food gift, look no further than David’s Cookies. They’re fun, they’re yummy, and in addition to shipping quickly and cheaply (shipping is never more than $4.95, and some items ship for free), you have a few more days to use code 15JULY for 15% off your order.

So while I suppose one could argue that the most appropriate food offering for this upcoming 4th of July holiday might be apple pie, or—failing that—some sort of red, white and blue jello concoction—I say this: Who doesn’t love cookies? And is there anything more American than happy glutttony? Exactly.

Oh, well, if it’s for the children. . .

Lovely Sheri writes:

So Mir, as I happen to read your blog everyday, I realized that you, of all people, might know of some fun places that have goodies with which to decorate a classroom. I’ll be new teacher at a sweet little school teaching 6th graders the joys of science and English…he he he…

Anyways, as college students aren’t too eager to spend their money on laminators and cardboard thingys, I have zero-zip-zilch-nada decorations or anything for my classroom…and I’m still not too eager to spend THAT much, and I have little to no idea of where to look.

A little help here? After all…it’s for the children…

Gotta love that little bit o’ guilt at the end there. Nice touch, Sheri!

Two stores immediately spring to mind for me, if you want to shop online:
1) Oriental Trading Company, where you can currently use coupon code JUNSAV25 to save $10 off your $50-$99 order or $25 off your $100+ order, or
2) Discount School Supply, where shipping is free on $79+ and code STOCKUP will get you an additional 10% off.

If youre shopping real stores, I’m kind of a sucker for Big Lots for this sort of thing.

But I’m not a teacher, and I know we have lots of teachers reading. Anyone want to chime in and help Sheri out?

gDiapers deal, because my readers are pretty

Lovely Want Not reader Rebecca has a great deal to share with y’all; she is a gMum with gDiapers and therefore gets special coupons with them. (I suspect this means Rebecca is part of the Diaper Mafia, but I adopt a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy when it comes to good coupons.) (Kidding about the Mafia.) (Mostly.)

If you’re unfamiliar with gDiapers, they’re basically a combination of cloth/disposable diapers (reusable wraps over disposable liners). Normally their 6-pack of everyday g’s costs $70, but if you use code g867Vnuk, you’ll get $30 off and receive six pairs of gPants for just $40. That’s my kind of savings.

Just keep in mind that you also need to buy liners and stuff, too, but that’s no biggie after the $30 you saved, right? Right.

Thanks so much, Rebecca!

Ship it free, today only

Got pants? Today (June 25th, 2009) only, ship your entire order at Dockers.com for free, no coupon necessary. As if that wasn’t awesome enough (and it’s not, because we can be a little greedy when it comes to rhe deals, I know), all clearance shirts will be reduced an additional 25% when you place them in your cart.

So maybe I should’ve asked if you’ve got shirts. Or if you’ve got naked. Okay, I’m going to stop talking now before I get myself in trouble….
