Need some games?

It looks like Barnes and Noble is clearancing out some of their board games, though they’re selling out pretty fast.

If you’re quick, you could snap up a few deals. Shipping is $3.99 and you can use coupon code A8P8N9P to take an additional 25% off of one item.

Personally, at this hour all I need is coffee, but you may be more intrepid than I….

I keep forgetting about this

I don’t know why I keep forgetting to check it out, but really, the Amazon Kitchen and Home One-Day Sale is a nice follow-up to any Friday Sale remorse you might have. (And by remorse, I of course mean that nagging feeling that you really should have snapped up that deal last week but didn’t.)

There’s lots of goodies on sale, there, so it may be worth a quick cruise through just to see if there’s anything you need.

I challenge you to find a cheaper GPS unit

Disclaimer: This is not about the most fancy or full-featured GPS unit, but it is about a decent unit for an affordable price.

If you’re swimming in cash, by all means get yourself a Nuvi or a TomTom for your navigational pleasure, sure. If not, check out this Pharos portable GPS unit. At $99.99 shipped it is not only the best price I’ve seen for this unit, it is the only Text-To-Speech unit I’ve seen in this price range.

Read the reviews and make an informed decision, as always, but if you’re wanting a pretty good GPS for not much money, this may be the deal for you.

Free root beer floats today

Who doesn’t like root beer floats? C— okay, I need to stop joking about Communists. I’m sure they’re very nice people. Even if they don’t like root beer floats and sometimes eat babies.

Anyway, if you have a local A&W restaurant, you’re in luck: Today (June 16th, 2008) you can get a free root beer float, no purchase necessary.

Not sure if you have an A&W near you? Look it up!

(My closest one is over 30 miles away. As much as I love root beer floats, I think I’m going to have to pass on this one. Here’s hoping you have better luck!)

Pretty and frugal — that’s you!

So you’re wanting to pick up some of your favorite beauty items, but you’re thinking to yourself, “Self, there has got to be a deal on this sort of thing so that I don’t have to spend so much. I think I’ll check with Mir!” And you were so right to do that, Pretty.

Right now you can purchase $25 worth of beauty products from Amazon and get $20 back. Yes, really. Read the terms, there, but basically any $25+ beauty purchase from a single seller will come with a free subscription to US Weekly. You can send in a rebate form so that instead of the magazine subscription, you get the retail value back—$19.80. (Although I am generally not a fan of rebate deals, I have always requested rebates on Amazon magazine bonuses and they have always come without a problem.)

And suddenly your fancy-pants make-up has a decidedly unfancy price. Nice!

Stay cool

In the market for a fan or two? Today all fans at Linens ‘N’ Thingsicon are shipping for free, and you can use coupon code 26620000008 to take 20% off one item.

True story: Long ago and far away, as a wee teenaged lass I worked in a department store when the Vornado fans were first introduced. We used to set one up on display with a beach ball suspended in the current, and people were positively mystified by them. To this day I still own a Vornado, partly because they really are like their tagline (“The ceiling fan on the floor”), and partly because how could you not love a fan that can suspend a beach ball in its vortex?

It’s a deal on. . . money

I had to read this deal three times before deciding to post it here. Let’s be clear on what this is about: Apparently you can buy $250 or $500 worth of circulating $1 coins from the U.S. Mint t face value and receive free shipping. That means you order $250 worth of coins for $250, or $500 worth of coins for $500.

Around here, the tooth fairy likes to have $1 coins handy, sure. And I don’t know how many kids you have, but I can’t think of anyone who’s going to be ponying up for 250 teeth.

So why is this a deal? This is a deal if you have a credit card that gives you some sort of desirable reward—cash back, or airline miles, or the like—and you can afford to charge your order to that credit card and you will pay your credit card balance off immediately. (Which, you know, should be easy to do, seeing as how you’re ordering money.)

Sometimes you have to hit the store

You know that I am all about finding the best deals while you sit in the comfort of your own home (preferably in your pajamas, natch).

But sometimes, there’s simply nothing better than rooting around the right store, at the right time, for that special bargain.

Yesterday my husband and I went to Macy’s to find him a sports coat for an upcoming event. I’d been scouring the sales online (with no luck) and we’d been to a few other stores. Well, Macy’s had a rack of blazers for $19.99. For that price, we went ahead and picked up two—one that was originally $325 and one that was $400. $735 worth of jackets for $40. Not bad.

What was your best deal lately?

Well hello there, Friday!

I’ve thought about seeking help for my addiction to the Amazon Friday Sale, but then I decided that I’d rather be slightly off-kilter but still get good deals. Heh.

Let’s see what they have this week….

This 9.4″ Philips digital frame is top-of-the-line if you’re in the market for such a thing, though the price is good and not a complete steal. (But if you want the best digital frame out there, I recommend you stick with Philips.) Smaller budget? Go for the 6.5″ version, instead.

Did you know there’s such a thing as atomic wall clocks? That’s kind of nifty.

I totally want a Bissell SpotBot. Or maybe I just really want a maid. Hard to tell. (Still, great price for that, especially with the free shipping, because that sucker is heavy.)

The Cupcake Courier is back, if you were regretting not snagging one last week.

Awwwwww, wookit da cute widdle baby Cuisinart!

I’m a little bit lusting after this crockpot, partly because it’s not as ugly as mine, and partly because you can program it to start later—ideal for days when you’ll be out of the house longer than you need it to cook.

Here’s a nice little ionic hairdryer for under $20.

Need a baby gift that makes it look like you spent the big bucks? Here you go—Royal Doulton for just $17.99. (That’s eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion, too, just in case you need a few.)

And don’t forget the Friday Five, five downloadable albums for just $5 each. This week features KT Tunstall, Alanis Morissette, Flight of the Conchords, and more!

Enjoy your Friday, everyone!
