Domo Arigato, Mr. Flashlighto
I am intrigued by this Stanley Tripod Flashlight, perhaps more than I ought to be. Nevermind that it reminds me of a Transformer, with its three flashlights in one and endless configuration possibilities, or the fact that it uses long-lasting LED bulbs, or that it’s just $20 shipped from Buy.com today… no, what’s getting to me is the wee keychain replica included as a bonus. Because having a tripod light dangling from your keys just seems very mad scientist, to me.
Has fantastic reviews on Amazon, where just the main light (no bonus superspy keychain light!) will run you $30.
They just outgrew their britches
Look, you know how much I’ve been enjoying the Target Daily Deals. One-day deals with free shipping is right up my alley.
But today is the day we’ll look back upon, shaking our heads sadly, saying that this, this was the day that Target jumped the shark.
Should you be interested, there’s a pair of $80 rain boots featured today. Yeah, they’re Dr. Martens, but I’m sorry, did you hear me? Target is selling $80 rain boots.
I fear the apocalypse can’t be far behind.
Happy Halloween! Don’t cross the streams!
I love the Ghostbusters movies. I’m not proud.
I had nightmares about the Stay Puft marshmallow man for years. Ah, memories.
Seriously, for $7 it’s hard to go wrong with a Ghostbusters 2-movie DVD set, isn’t it? I mean, it is kind of the season.
Now that’s planning ahead
I’m sure you’re all set for this Halloween, right? But maybe you want a costume for the dress-up chest, or you’re already thinking ahead to next year (in which case, I salute you). If that’s the case, check out the Halloween costumes on clearance at Toys ‘R’ Us.
I wouldn’t count on any of them arriving on time for this year (not with the free regular shipping, anyway), but at those prices, you might find yourself being a little more organized than usual.
Kitchens of Yummia
I hear the sweet siren song of another Amazon special on Kitchens of India products calling my name…. (Two words, baby: Butter chicken. Yum.) (Okay, I lied. That was three.)
Use coupon code KINDIA45 for 30% off, and then buy via Subscribe & Save for an additional 15% off and free shipping. (Something new I noticed they’re doing—the items which are only available as a preorder don’t have a S&S option. Still a good deal, but not quite as spectacular.)
Honestly, I’m not much for prepackaged sauces/foods most of the time; I prefer to cook from scratch. But sometimes you can’t beat the convenience, and I love the taste of all the varieties I’ve tried here. And when they run a special like this? It’s hard to beat the price.
Discover discounts at Discovery
Discovery Channel, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: I love your geeky science shows. I love that you are preferred by the children. I love that sometimes you show me people blowing things up for no reason whatsoever.
And I love your sales on cool stuff.
Today only, save big at the Discovery Channel Store when you pick your savings: Use code SAVE10 to take $10 off your $60+ purchase, code SAVE15 for $15 off $75+, or SAVE25 for $25 off $100+. There’s plenty of items on sale already, too, not to mention that they have every DVD you could possibly want, and a slew of cool toys for the kids, too.
It’s positively geektastic. (That should totally be their slogan.)
Fancy, yet affordable
Through the end of the month, The Home Decorators Outlet is giving $25 off orders of $150+, automatically.
If you’ve not shopping HDO before, prepare to be amazed. They deal in high-quality home furnishing overstocks at an average of about 70% off. I could tell you all the things in my house that’ve come from there (helloooooo, hand-loomed wool area rug for a song!), but that would become embarrassing pretty quickly. Their quality is fabulous and their prices are totally Want Not-worthy.
Mir + HDO = BFF!
Must. Resist.
I know many of you have cursed the day I introduced you to 6pm.com. It’s the site I personally love to hate, as I need no encouragement when it comes to buying pretty shoes on sale, already, and I often find myself justifying a purchase with, “But it’s such a good deal.”
I’m trying to be good. Actually, I haven’t bought a pair of shoes in months.
But I’m not sure I can resist the lure of Danskos for just $40. I tried on some Danskos, once. It was like walking on buttered unicorn breath. And that doesn’t even make any sense. That’s how comfy they were. They were also $95, so, you know, those shoes got left behind at the store. But $40? I’m only human, people.
But not the jeans, darn it
A couple of weeks ago I posted:
Shop The Children’s Place this month, and you can use coupon code HA99 for 15% off any order, or bulk up the savings by using code PDA99 for $20 off your $80+ order. Both coupons are good through the end of October, and the Fall Sale is underway and Halloween costumes are on sale, too.
Of course now the 30% off Fall Items and Costumes Sale has turned into the 50% off Fall Items and Costumes Sale, so I ran over there—all excited to finally get some jeans for my son—only to discover that the denim is still regular price. Hmph.
But, you know, 50% off lots of other stuff, anyway.
Yummy, portable fruit
As the cold weather moves in, I’m all about portable, shelf-stable fruit options for the kids’ lunches, because I’m not buying peaches from Romania or whatever once everything’s out of season. Hmph. (And yes, I love apples, but there are only so many apples we can eat….)
I just picked up some strawberry banana crisps on special at Amazon; the 24-pack comes out to $10.15 in your cart, so it’s about $.42 a bag. Eligible for Prime or free Super Saver Shipping on $25+.
There’s nothing inside but delicious, freeze-dried fruit. My kids think this stuff is candy. (Shhhh. Don’t tell them.)
