Disney a-go-go

Some people are taking their families to Disneyworld for Spring Break (because thanks to the recession, there have been all sorts of affordable package options being offered), and some people are lucky that I am so fond of them because I am completely and utterly jealous. Hmph.

Anyway, if you happen to be planning a Disney trip, remember the first rule of souvenirs: There’s no law that says you have to (over)pay for them at the park! Stock up on the cheap before you leave, then dole out the goodies each morning and watch your kids proclaim you to be the Best! Mom! Ever! You’ll save a ton, plus staunch the in-park “gimmes” that are liable to strike.

How do you do it? Check out DisneyShopping and work the sales and codes; use SHIPTODAY to ship your entire $89+ order for just $5. Stack that with code PRESDAY to amp up the savings this weekend, too (see the site for details—it’ll give you between 15% and 30% off, depending on what you spend).

So stock up and save. But don’t buy too much… I’m hoping you might have room in your suitcase for me.

New codes for Catherines

Contemplating a purchase at Catherines, where you can pick up plus-size clothing and various accessories? There’s hundreds of items in the clearance section, plus you can use a code to get the best deal. Use either code 776998080 for free shipping on any order, or 776997355 for $10 off your $50+ order.

Because you’re worth it… but it never hurts to get a better bargain.

Come on baby, light my walkway

(What? Isn’t that how the song goes…?)

I love my solar-powered LED lights; I’m far too lazy and cheap to turn on something as superfluous as walkway lights in the evenings, but if it 1) turns on automatically and 2) runs for free, count me in.

Check out this set of 4 solar walkway lights from Buy.com for $12.99 shipped. That’s insanely cheap.

I may need another set.

We love Scholastic, oh yes we do

Once upon a time I was single-handedly keeping Scholastic in business with my book purchases. Ahem. I mean, sure, save money, but deny my children books? Never! And then I wised up and got Scholastic to hire me, and now they send me books for free. This is known as Nerd Nirvana.

But if you don’t work for Scholastic, you can still get great books and great bargains from them—like now: Through February 23rd, 2009, check out the Scholastic President’s Day Sale, and then use coupon code AFFPD to take an additional 20% off select sale items.

And then it’s not shopping, it’s educational and therefore 100% justifiable. Yay!

Just because BB made a joke about me and shoes

Don’t go leaving me comments about my affinity for shoes, dude. I will always have to counter with a fabulous sale, even if only to prove that my closetful of shoes cost pennies on the dollar.

Because I’m mature that way.

So, today EMS launches their Semi-Annual Footwear Clearance, and I was prepared for it to be all winter boots and running shoes and stuff. And it is, but it’s also other stuff, including sandals, which I feel is really an investment in my mental health because it helps me to believe that summer is coming. Right? Right.

(Psssst! Orders of $100+ ship for free!)

Get ready for spring planting

I know it seems like spring might never arrive, but trust me—it will. And when it does, you’ll be raring to get your planting done, so that you can kick back this summer and… ummm… weed. (Hey, wait a minute. Why am I planting a garden, again…?)

Anyway, now’s a great time to order from Breck’s so that you’ll be ready. Go through that link there and you’ll get $25 off your $50 purchase, too.

Maybe you can teach your kids to weed, and you can just hang out with a glass of lemonade. (Hey, hope springs eternal.)

I believe this is called gadget lust

Oh. Oh, no. Guess what’s now available for pre-order? Guess what’s probably never going to go on sale, and I’m never going to own, but I would consider swapping you one of my children for?

Yeah. The new Amazon Kindle.

Wouldn’t that make an awesome Valentine’s gift (I guess it would have to be an I.O.U., but still) for your favorite bibliophile? I mean, yes, sure, extravagant. I know. I know.

Still. Do you think my husband would mind if I found myself a sugar daddy?

Got lights?

Two things in this world seem to always cost way more than they should: Lighting and faucets. (Seriously, are there tiny unicorns in those faucets?) If you’re looking for a light fixture, though, you might want to check out the lighting clearance at Graveyard Mall.

I’m kind of digging that raindrop wall sconce. If only I could buy that instead of a bathtub faucet….

In case you missed the last one

I hope a lot of you were able to get in on the recent deal on Ergo backpacks at Lands’ End; my kids haven’t stopped raving about theirs since they arrived. I guess they’re a lot more comfortable than their previous 10-ton rolling bags. Heh. (It looks like the Ergos are now sold out; there are lots of other packs on sale, though, if that’s what you’re needing.)

You may have noticed, though, that the free shipping code from that post has expired. No worries! I’ve got you covered: Through February 21st, 2009, ship any Lands’ End order for free with code SUNLIFE and PIN 6365.

Now that I’m done shopping for the kids, I think I deserve a little something for me, no…?
