Get the savings before they’re gone

The big Spring Sale at Old Navy is still going on (lots of savings up to 40% off), and there’s also a code for free shipping on $50+, but it ends today. (Whoops, guess I should’ve read my email earlier. Sorry about that!) Through today (April 10th, 2008) you can use coupon code SHOPNSHIP to save yourself the shipping if you get your order up to $50.

I still miss the days when you could walk into the back rack at the store and everything on clearance would be $.97. Do they even do that anymore? Ah, the good old days….

Rock out with your little guitar

I think I’ve mentioned here that over Christmas break I finally had a chance to play on a wii, and while I claim to have enjoyed the bowling the most, the reality is that I’m a total rocker wannabe. I loved Guitar Hero.

Should I ever get my hands on a wii, I’m buying Guitar Hero, pronto.

Already have a wii? Check it out: Amazon has the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock bundle for $74.99 with free shipping. It’s hardly bargain-basement pricing, but it’s the cheapest I’ve seen by $10 or so. And it’s the most fun you can have with a little plastic guitar, I swear.

Outfit the kiddos

Hey, there’s a new coupon out for Children’s Place—through May 4th, 2008, you can use coupon code S1A48 to take 15% off your total order. Shipping is always just a flat $5.

It may be time to buy shorts for those children whose shorts all shrunk in the wash at some point this winter. I know that’s what happened to my kids’ shorts….

Get a free deck

I love this—go to this site and make your own custom photo playing cards! Perfect for Mother’s or Father’s Day, or as a stocking stuffer for this coming Christmas. Although the regular price is $20.99 plus shipping, using coupon code FREEDECK will get you your order for shipping only ($5.99). The first deck is free, additional ones are half-price, with the code.

I’m off to choose a photo. Or—oh, wait!—maybe I’ll stage a totally ridiculous picture of my kids playing poker and “smoking” hot dogs.

Stop looking at me like that.

Jeans confessional

Look, I know that none of you want to hear about my butt (um, let’s just assume that to be the case), but I have to tell you something. If you are female, chances are you have a hard time finding jeans that fit. If you are a curvy female, you’ll be having an even harder time, because many, many clothing manufacturers do not believe in hips.

I know! It’s weird, this firmly-held belief that hips are like unicorns—oft-discussed but mythical. But it’s true that some women have hips. You heard it right here.

Anyway, they may not be haute couture, but I am here to tell you that Lee Jeans—while neither particularly expensive nor bling-y—are not only made for women with waists and hips, they now have a style called “One True Fit” that magically prevent the curse of hip-y girls everywhere by causing the jeans to actually fit in the waist while not cutting off the circulation to the hips. It’s a thing of beauty.

If you order directly from Lee, orders of $25+ ship for free, automatically. The new Spring styles are 20% off, and let’s be honest, here… it’s not like their stuff is very expensive, to begin with. Decent pricing and pants that fit. It could only be better if your package came wrapped in bacon.

If you use Clinique. . .

. . . now’s the time to stock up at Macy’s, because they’re running a great Clinique special.

Purchase $21.50+ of Clinique products and you can use coupon code CLINIQUEG to receive a $50 Clinique gift! Plus, buy $55+ worth and you’ll get free shipping. (And let’s face it; $55 in Clinique products is like, I dunno, maybe a lipstick and some powder.)

And you’d best appreciate the stress I went through to bring you this offer, because my spell checker keeps insisting that Clinique is not a word, and it’s driving me nuts. So.

That’s amore! Also, that’s a-lotta oil-ay!

Coming in just behind my love affair with chocolate and bacon (not together) is my deep affection for olive oil. We use olive oil in, well, nearly everything. It’s good for you! And it’s tasty! And if you’re a wannabe-foodie you can pour it into pretty jars with some garlic cloves and/or the spices of your choice and give it away as gifts. (If you do that, I recommend tying a pretty ribbon on it and saying, “I made you some gourmet olive oil” rather than “Dude, I totally just dumped some oil in this jar with this rosemary I grew!” Of course I am being completely hypothetical.)

Do you cook with a lot of olive oil? Scoot on over to Amazon, where this two-pack of Colavita extra virgin olive oil is currently $23.80. Then use coupon code OILOIL22 to save another $5. That’s 68 ounces of the primo stuff for just $18.80—much cheaper than you’d get it in the store. (Too much oil for you? Split it with a friend and you each take one 34-ounce tin for $9.40.) Add a filler item and it’ll ship for free with Super Saver Shipping, and if you’ve seen a price like that at your local grocery store, I’ll drink a glassful of oil, rosemary and all.

Cheap eats, again

Why yes, it is Restaurant.com time ago; I’m so glad you asked! You have through April 13th, 2008, to use code ENJOY to take 50% off your restaurant certificate order. That gives you a cool $25 worth of dining for just $5, and that’s a great deal even if you’re using that new math. Hooray!

Coldwater Creek, you vixen

I can quit shopping at Coldwater Creek at any time. Really. It’s not like I need to shop there. And as soon as they stop offering 50% off coupons, I’m quitting. Honest.

But until then, you have through April 12th, 2008, to take 50% off anything in the store—even in the Outlet—with coupon code WXH3123. Talk all you want and strength and resisting, but I am only human, people!

Take a (cheap) trip to Furryville

Remember when a bunch of us got that amazing deal on the Furryville Bearskis Treehouse? I remember being so impressed with the cut price on that, but then horrified by the prices on the accessories.

Fear not!

Hop on over to eToys today to outfit your treehouse and stock your gift closet—they’ve got three adorable Furryville play sets on big sale:

Get The Hippomotos on the Stageicon for just $4.99 (75% off), or The Finnegans Go Sailingicon for $4.99 (75% off), or The Elefontaines at the Seaicon for just $3.99 (69% off). All are eligible for free shipping with no minimum, so order as many or as few as you need.

Show me a little girl who doesn’t love these little critters, and I’ll show you… ummm… a little boy. (And truth be told, my son likes this sort of thing nearly as much as his sister.)
